Kim Jong Un leading public voting for Time’s person of the year 2012

It seems that Time magazine may be the latest to fall victim to an internet sabotage campaign.

When selecting their Person of the Year for 2012, Time Magazine opened up the voting to the public to help their editors in making their selection.

The notorious 4Chan, a well known internet message board known for its public stunts, begun “Operation: Kim Jung Un for Time’s Person of the Year.”

It’s not the first time 4Chan have set out to influence Time’s awards – in 2009 4Chan managed to influence the vote so that the founder of the message board, Chris Poole, beat out regular contenders including Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama.

And it seems as if 4Chan are having success once again, Kim Jong Un currently sits at #1 in a Top-10 including Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, The Higgs Boson Particle and Psy – creator of global sensation Gangnam Style.
