In the 2018 Project Auckland report, we looked at the future of Auckland in the run up to 2021 which was due to see Auckland host several big events including the Annual APEC Leaders’ Meeting, America’s Cup and the Women’s Rugby World Cup as well as the Women’s Cricket World Cup, the Men’s Softball World Cup and Te Matatini Festival.
The report also took a look at Auckland’s infrastructure in response to its quickly growing population, as well as specific issues that were facing the city, including transport, housing and the homeless crisis and the funding required to tackle these issues.
The report also explored the nature of Smart Cities, what Millennials wanted from their cities and what measures could be implemented to ensure Auckland continued to remain one of the highest-ranking cities worldwide for quality of life.
