Biography
Peter is currently the CEO of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), a government-owned economic development agency responsible for helping companies grow internationally.
Before NZTE Peter spent 23 years in the engineering, manufacturing, and Pulp and Paper industries, including roles in human resources, operations, logistics, supply-chain, business Improvement and general management.
Peter was the General Manager of Tasman Paper in Kawerau, New Zealand, prior to taking up a role as Senior Vice President for Norske Skog International at the global headquarters in Oslo, covering business in South America, Asia, Middle East, and Europe. His final role before moving back to NZ was based in Sydney as Regional President Norske Skog Australasia, manufacturing newsprint for New Zealand, Australia and Asia markets.
Peter has a Master of Social Sciences from Massey University and has undertaken additional study in law, marketing, strategy, accounting and finance at universities in New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom and Europe. Board roles have included the New Zealand Qualifications Authority and the Australian Pulp and Paper Innovation Council.
