Professional work experience:
Cathy is the Chair of Minter Ellison Rudd Watts, and a corporate and commercial lawyer who leads our Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity teams. Cathy also leads our China practice and is a member of the recently established New Zealand China Council.
Cathy is highly-regarded for her specialist legal work in mergers, acquisitions, securities law, corporate governance and private equity. She is regularly sought out by international and local clients for her expertise in the areas in which she practices. Cathy is the principal author of Minter Ellison Rudd Watts’ White Paper on Corporate Governance.
Cathy was a member of the New Zealand Securities Commission for 9 years and she was the only lawyer appointed to the government’s Capital Markets Development Taskforce. Cathy is a member of the Financial Markets Authority’s Capital Markets Consultation Panel.
Cathy was the Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award Winner 2010 (New Zealand).
