In an effort to try and connect with the public about his fiscal cliff message, US President Barack Obama did what had worked so well for him in his election campaigns – he tweeted.
The President opted to connect directly with Americans about fiscal cliff negotiations by personally responding to select vocal detractors of his proposed solutions on taxes and spending.

In his hour online, Obama delivered the same answers he’s been selling since negotiations began last month.
He did however reserve his final tweet for his two beloved Chicago sports teams – the NFL’s Bears and the NBA’s Bulls.

While Obama taking to Twitter was certainly an exciting move for a President to make, his message hasn’t changed. But the content wasn’t as important this time as reaching the right audience, a challenge that has been completed to perfection thus far by Obama in his social media career.
