2018 – Mood of the Boardroom: The Confidence Conundrum

The 2018 Mood of the Boardroom report looked into The Confidence Conundrum. Not enough experience or action, too many committees and surprises – that was business leaders’ verdict on the Coalition Government in the Herald’s Mood of the Boardroom survey.

In the 2018 survey, chief executives were asked to dig behind the business confidence numbers, run their ruler over the Coalition’s transformational agenda and its implementation, critique the Coalition leadership and that of the National Opposition and put forward their views on major issues including taxation, infrastructure, employment law settings, trade and foreign investment.

The survey also asked CEOs to cast their lens on the impact of disruptive shifts affecting business worldwide and the steps their organisations were taking to deal with substantial change.
